Simply put, this beer is a paradigm shift in a bottle. Most of the wheat beers I've stumbled across have always reminded me of drinking soggy bread, but this refreshing little brew was a pleasant surprise.
As I wandered through the beer section of the LCBO last night, a Jamaican-style blonde lager called Red Stripe caught my eye and I realized I couldn't recall ever trying a Jamaican beer. Being a long-standing fan of their women, I decided to give it a try.
Miss Girl brought this beer to my attention as we were scouring the likker store looking for the perfect alcohol in which to drown my sorrows. I have to admit, the label sealed the deal: It's black and has a picture of a lion. It was just so metal, how could I say no?
My first exposure to this delightful little brew was seemingly forever ago when, during one visit to the cottage, my aunt produced some unlabeled bottles with fluorescent orange pieces of paper rubber banded to their necks.
